Campania Events

Campania’s calendar combines international programmes with local religious and agricultural events. Dates for annual festivals can move, so use the regional or organiser calendar before booking transport.

Summer performance

The Ravello Festival places orchestral, chamber and other performances in the Amalfi Coast setting. In 2026 its programme ran from 4 July to 5 September. The Campania Teatro Festival brings theatre, dance and performance to venues in Naples and elsewhere in the region during early summer. These are ticketed programmes rather than reasons to improvise accommodation at the last minute.

Religious and civic calendars

Patron-saint days matter across the region, from large Naples observances to processions in island and mountain towns. Holy Week is especially visible in many communities. Respect barriers, processional routes and worshippers; the best position for a photograph is not automatically an appropriate place to stand.

Carnival and village traditions

The Region’s cultural inventory records distinctive Carnival traditions in every province. Programmes change annually, but the useful planning principle is stable: rural Carnival belongs to late winter, often in smaller towns with limited evening transport. Stay locally rather than trying to return to the coast after the final event.

Food, harvest and local festivals

Municipal and regional calendars list sagre built around chestnuts, wine, pasta, lemons, fish and other local products. Quality varies, but the strongest are community events tied to a real harvest or production tradition. Look for an organising municipality, producer group or cultural association, and confirm the date on the official calendar. In 2026 the Region maintained a dedicated calendar of festivals and popular celebrations, a better planning source than undated travel lists.
