Getting Around
Conegliano's historic centre is small and walkable, though built on a slope -- the climb from the station to the castle is steady and takes about twenty-five minutes.
Conegliano station is on the Venice-Udine line, about ten minutes' walk south of the centre. Trains reach Treviso in around 25 minutes and Venice in about an hour, and both run frequently. This makes the town a genuinely practical base without a car.
The hills, however, need a car. The Strada del Prosecco follows the ridge west toward Valdobbiadene through Rua, Col San Martino and Santo Stefano, and buses do not usefully serve it. Cycling it is popular and rewarding, with the caveat that it is properly hilly.
Driving in the centre is restricted by a ZTL, with parking at the edges of the old town.
