Possagno
Possagno Geography
Possagno sits at roughly 300 metres, on the last slope before Monte Grappa rises to 1,775 metres directly north of it. The massif dominates the village completely — it is the view from the Tempio terrace and the reason the roads north are slow.
South of the village the land drops into the Asolo hills and then the Veneto plain, which on clear days is visible as far as the lagoon. The clay of these foothills is what supported the local brick and terracotta kilns.
Administratively it is in the province of Treviso. Asolo is about 8 km south, Bassano del Grappa about 18 km west.
