Chicago's central attractions make most sense as parts of an urban system. The Chicago River corridor shows the progression from early steel frames to post-war towers. Nearby, the Chicago Cultural Center, Millennium Park and Art Institute connect civic interiors, public art and the lakefront.
South of the Loop, Museum Campus brings together the Adler Planetarium, Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium. North Side draws include Lincoln Park, neighbourhood streets and Wrigley Field. Farther south, Pullman and Bronzeville reveal industrial and Black urban history that the downtown skyline cannot explain.
