Jodhpur attractions

Mehrangarh is the principal anchor: a fortified complex built and altered across centuries, with courtyards, palaces and museum collections above the old city. Jaswant Thada and Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park lie in the same broad ridge zone, but their entrances, hours and terrain require separate checks.

Below the fort, the old-city lanes lead toward Ghanta Ghar and Sardar Market. Toorji ka Jhalra and other water structures reveal a different civic history. These are working neighbourhoods and commercial spaces, not a controlled pedestrian precinct.

Umaid Bhawan Palace stands in a separate eastern cluster; only designated museum or hospitality areas are accessible. Mandore, the earlier capital, lies north of central Jodhpur among gardens, temples and royal memorials. Kailana, Machiya and other outer sites require deliberate transport and current operator or authority information.
