Jaswant Thada
Jaswant Thada site features
Last updated on October 28, 2026The mausoleum
Jaswant Thada appears as a cluster of white domes and finials above red-brown terraces. The marble changes with the light, from cool grey in shade to a warm translucent white in direct sun.
Inside, columns and arches organise a compact hall. Portraits draw attention from the architecture to the succession of Marwar rulers, while perforated screens break the outside glare into patterned light.
Beyond the hall, smaller memorials, clipped lawns and the lake create a measured sequence of views toward Mehrangarh and Jodhpur.
