Mandore Gardens site plan

The garden

Red-sandstone towers rise above green lawns and dark rocky slopes. From a distance they resemble temples; closer views reveal pillared open halls and memorial inscriptions connected with Marwar rulers.

Paths pass between clipped gardens, older shrines and groups of cenotaphs. Some spaces are quiet and archaeological, others active with worship or family outings.

The site's visual strength comes from accumulation: carved stone against foliage, successive towers along the hill and glimpses of older fabric beyond the maintained garden.
