Frascati Events
Frascati's calendar runs on wine, weekends and the religious year.
Autumn is the wine season, and the most characteristic time to be in the town.
Weekend evenings year-round are when Rome comes up for the cellars — the town's busiest reliable rhythm, and the one to plan around rather than into.
Spring is the best season for the villas and for walking up to Tusculum.
Religious feasts centre on the cathedral dedicated to St Peter, begun in 1598, and on the church of Capocroce, which commemorates the sparing of the town by Landsknechts on 1 May 1527.
Summer is hot but not as hot as the city — 35 °C with rare peaks of 37, and never yet 40.
Checking what is actually on. Regione Lazio publishes a region-wide events calendar on its VisitLazio portal, listing festivals, sagre and historical re-enactments by comune and by date. Local feast days move with the liturgical calendar and small-town programmes are often fixed only weeks ahead, so confirm there rather than relying on last year's dates.
