Sutri Events

Sutri's calendar is about to change, and the date is known.

From 18 October 2026, Sutri appears as Lazio's representative in the fourteenth edition of Il Borgo dei Borghi, the Rai 3 competition broadcast within Kilimangiaro, with a different village presented each Sunday afternoon.

Easter Sunday, 28 March 2027, is when the winner is proclaimed. Whatever the result, the months between are when the town's national profile will be highest.

Spring and autumn are the practical visiting seasons for the rock-cut park and the medieval town.

Religious feasts centre on the Duomo, of Romanesque origin, and on the church of the Madonna del Parto — the converted Mithraeum.

Winter is cool and quiet, with the comune in climate zone D.

Checking what is actually on. Regione Lazio publishes a region-wide events calendar on its VisitLazio portal, listing festivals, sagre and historical re-enactments by comune and by date. Local feast days move with the liturgical calendar and small-town programmes are often fixed only weeks ahead, so confirm there rather than relying on last year's dates.
