The recessed loggia

The central void that makes this villa unlike every later one. Stand in front of it to see the idea Palladio started from and then abandoned.

The Zelotti frescoes

The principal cycle, from the 1550s, alongside earlier work by Gualtiero Padovano and Battista del Moro — three painters, one house, in sequence.

The fossil museum

A collection of fossils from the Lessini hills housed in the villa, which is not what most visitors arrive expecting and is genuinely local to this corner of the Veneto.

The terraced garden

The ground falls away in front of the house toward the valley, and the setting is a large part of why the site was chosen.
