The ski season from December to March is the town's main economic event, with the Christmas and New Year fortnight the most crowded and expensive of the year.

Coppa d'Oro and the World Cup women's downhill on the Olympia delle Tofane bring international racing to the valley in January.

In summer, mountain running and cycling events use the passes -- the Maratona dles Dolomites and the Lavaredo Ultra Trail are the biggest, and both fill accommodation for a wide radius.

Ferragosto in mid-August is the peak of the Italian holiday season, when the valley is at its fullest.
