Site Features

Contadora Island offers the archipelago's most developed infrastructure, with several beaches easily reached on foot and a small airstrip connecting it to Panama City by short flight. Beyond Contadora, many of the smaller Pearl Islands remain undeveloped, offering a genuinely remote island experience for those who charter a boat or book a multi-island tour.

The surrounding waters are a significant draw in their own right — sport fishing (particularly for marlin and other large pelagic species) and diving/snorkeling around the islands' reefs and rock formations are popular activities, and humpback whales pass through nearby waters on their migration during the dry season months.

Landscape

The archipelago sits in the Gulf of Panama's warm Pacific waters, with the islands themselves ranging from small, densely forested outcrops to longer stretches of sandy beach on the larger islands like Contadora and San José. Dense tropical vegetation covers most of the undeveloped islands, while the surrounding waters support significant marine life, including reef fish, rays, and seasonal humpback whale migrations.
