Overview

The Natural Park of Sintra-Cascais offers an incredible diversity of landscapes, including dunes, forests, small lakes, and a beautiful rugged coastline with rocky cliffs.

Furthermore, it is home to astonishing beaches and the European continent's westernmost point, Cabo da Roca.

This wild and rugged headland was believed to be the world's edge up until the late 14th century. The isolated atmosphere is enhanced by a desolate scenery, raging Atlantic Ocean waves, and windswept cliffs. Visitors can hike on the spectacular coastal paths (be cautious. There are some blustery winds), admire the stunning views, and look at the lighthouse (unfortunately not open to the public).

Tip: Sunset is the best time of the day to visit this spot with the sun setting over the Atlantic Ocean.
