Bengaluru's clearest central sequence joins Vidhana Soudha, the red Attara Kacheri, Cubbon Park and the museums around Kasturba Road. It combines the state's political centre with the green space and public institutions that helped shape the city's “Garden City” identity.

Lalbagh deserves a separate visit. Its botanical collection, lake, Glass House and ancient gneiss outcrop make it more than an ornamental park. Farther west, the old market quarter brings together KR Market, Bangalore Fort and Tipu Sultan's Palace in a denser and less forgiving street environment.

Bangalore Palace, Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, the Museum of Art & Photography, the Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum and the HAL Heritage Centre represent different parts of the city's royal, artistic, scientific and aerospace histories. Bannerghatta Biological Park lies well south of the centre and should be planned as a dedicated outing. Verify each site's current entry rules before setting out.
