Rocca di Asolo

The Rocca stands on the summit above Asolo at about 310 metres, a plain medieval enclosure of walls and towers with almost nothing inside. It was built to hold the hill rather than to be lived in, and the reason to walk up is the view that gave the town its nickname -- the hundred horizons.

Ticketed but inexpensive, with seasonal hours -- generally weekends and holidays outside summer, so check before making the climb. The walls and enclosure are the whole visit.
Reached on foot in about 25 minutes from Piazza Garibaldi on a marked path. There is no useful vehicle access; this is a walk.
