The front carries two orders stacked — Doric below, Ionic above — in a flat façade rather than a projecting portico, because there was no farm estate to command and no approach to dramatise. The site is a street corner by the gate.
That constraint is the interest. Most Palladian villas are the centre of an agricultural holding, with barchesse spreading either side. Here the same architectural language is compressed onto an urban plot, and the result is closer to a palazzo than to Villa Emo or Villa Barbaro.
