Site Features

Beyond the cathedral and its mosaics, Torcello's small museum holds archaeological finds from the island's settlement, including Roman and early medieval artifacts predating the cathedral itself.

The island is also known for its agricultural side -- small fields growing Torcello's own variety of violet artichoke -- and for the Locanda Cipriani, a historic inn and restaurant that counted Ernest Hemingway among its regular guests during his time in Venice.
