Palazzo Fontana Rezzonico
Last updated on September 4, 2026Overview
Palazzo Fontana Rezzonico is a 17th-century palace on the Grand Canal in the Cannaregio district, at the mouth of the Rio di San Felice, not far from the Ca' d'Oro. It is the birthplace of Carlo della Torre di Rezzonico, later Pope Clement XIII, and the Rezzonico family that once rented it went on to build the larger Ca' Rezzonico nearby on the Grand Canal.
Visit Responsibly
As an occupied private residence, the palace should be viewed and photographed from the canal or the street rather than approached at its entrances. It's best appreciated as one stop among several nearby Cannaregio palaces rather than a singular destination in itself.
How to See It
The palace is not open to the public and has no admission or tour of its own -- it's appreciated from the outside, either by vaporetto or gondola passing along the Grand Canal, or on foot from the Rio di San Felice side.
- Getting there: a short walk from the Ca' d'Oro vaporetto stop in Cannaregio.
- Nearby: Ca' d'Oro and Casa Levi Morenos are both within easy walking distance for a combined look at the area's Grand Canal palaces.
